As a company we genuinely believe that we have a responsibility and an obligation to do whatever is possible to adopt both ethical and sustainable business practices.
We subscribe to the principles of the Fairtrade movement and feel that only fairly-traded commodities, that benefit our farmers and their families, can provide a genuinely sustainable future.
This is why Ue Coffee Roasters have a strict purchasing and trading policy that is, and always will be, the cornerstone of our business.
Every one of our coffee, tea, cocoa and sugar product lines
must, as a minimal requirement, be certified to come from a Fairtrade source - nothing else will do.
Wherever possible we go further, by proactively looking to purchase from both sustainable and organic origins and producers, which is fully supported through our work directly with the Rainforest Alliance and the Soil Association.
We are also mindful that, by working with our suppliers, we can positively reduce the impact we have on the environment. We aim to reduce “food miles” by sourcing locally wherever possible.
We are continually striving to reduce the amount of packaging used throughout our product range. Our disposable coffee-to-go range uses only environmentally-friendly paper from sustainable sources, and comes with the assurances of being 100% biodegradable and recyclable for double measure.
Nor does it end there... Our commitment to only trading in a responsible manner is further demonstrated through our work with the Coffee Kids Charity, where we donate 2% of our total purchases of our fresh coffee, going directly to enhance the lives of many children in the poorer coffee producing regions of South America.
