Good espresso starts with good beans. Whether you're making a flat white at home or just want a rich and satisfying morning brew, the coffee you choose makes all the difference.
Our espresso range includes house blends crafted specifically for espresso and single origins that perform brilliantly as a shot or with milk. All roasted fresh to order from 100% Arabica beans, nothing else. All of our espresso coffees are omni-roasted, meaning they work just as well through a V60 or cafetière as they do as espresso.

Espresso Coffee F.A.Q's
Can I use these in a bean-to-cup machine?
Yes. All of our espresso coffees work in bean-to-cup machines. If your machine has grind settings, start in the middle and adjust from there. Our team are happy to advise if you need a hand.
Will these work for flat whites and cappuccinos?
Yes. Our blends in particular are crafted to cut through steamed milk cleanly, giving you that coffee shop flavour at home. Check the tasting notes on each product page for a steer on which suits your preferred drink.
Should I choose a blend or a single origin for espresso?
Blends are more consistent and forgiving, ideal for beginners and entry-level machines. Single origins deliver more complexity but need more patience to dial in. Either way, all our espresso coffees are roasted to work well in a home machine.
What roast level is best for espresso?
Medium to dark roasts are the most forgiving, they produce rich, chocolatey flavour with good body and crema. Lighter roasts can work beautifully as espresso but need more precision to dial in. If you're newer to home espresso, start with a medium roast blend.
Do I need special espresso beans?
Not exactly, there's no such thing as an "espresso bean." Any coffee can technically be used, but some are roasted and developed specifically with espresso extraction in mind. Our espresso range is chosen and roasted to perform well under pressure, giving you rich flavour, good body, and a decent crema.
What is espresso coffee?
In essence, espresso is a brewing technique that crafts a rich, flavourful beverage by forcing high-pressure water through finely ground coffee beans. This delightful concoction is usually made with the aid of an What is espresso coffee?.
What grind size will be sent if I choose pre-ground espresso?
Our espresso is available in a single grind size. However, we highly suggest purchasing whole beans and grinding them at home. This is because the burrs in various coffee machines can differ, influencing the brewing process.
Does Ue sell espresso in wholebean?
Yes. All our coffee is available as whole bean.
Is pre-ground espresso the same as instant espresso?
Pre-ground espresso consists of finely crushed coffee beans, whereas instant coffee undergoes a unique process to become soluble granules.
Whilst we can admit that instant coffee isn't always that bad—it's still coffee, technically—there's a pretty big disparity when it comes to flavour and quality, with ground coffee being the undeniable winner.
Ground coffee is the product of carefully-roasted Arabica coffee beans, which are then finely ground to varying levels of coarseness.
Instant coffee usually uses Robusta beans, which have a less rich and complex flavour profile than Arabica. After roasting, the beans are brewed into a concentrated coffee liquid. This liquid is then dehydrated to form soluble coffee granules.
How should I store my ground coffee?
Storing ground coffee properly will keep it fresh for longer.
The best way to store ground coffee is to keep it away from air, moisture, heat, and light. Ideally, you'd store your coffee in an airtight container inside a cool, dark cupboard. The container should be as small as possible so that the amount of air it comes into contact with is limited.
Please just do not put your coffee in the fridge or freezer. That's not where it belongs.
How do I dispose of my waste coffee grounds?
You can dispose of your old coffee grounds in the bin or, even better, use them in your compost or as a fertiliser for your garden. Just don't put them in the sink—they'll clog.
